Weston is a village in Saunders County with 250 residents at the 2020 census, down from 324 in 2010. It was platted in 1877, when the Omaha and Republican Valley Railroad was extended to that point. A 1925 survey of Nebraska place names records that the name was chosen by officials of the Union Pacific Railroad. The village is compact, covering roughly a fifth of a square mile.
Its Catholic parish, St. John Nepomucene, has shaped the village since the beginning. The first Mass was celebrated in December 1885 in a wooden building twenty-four by thirty feet. A sacristy and annex were added in 1891, and a larger church was built on the same site in 1905 and 1906, dedicated in July 1906. A long renovation ended with a Mass of Rededication in June 2011. The parish is named for a saint born in Nepomuk in Bohemia, a reflection of the Czech families who settled this corner of the county.
The parish also serves a mission church, St. Vitus in nearby Touhy. Weston has sent two athletes to the professional ranks: the baseball player Bob Cerv and the football tight end Zach Miller.
