History

Miller was laid out in 1890 when the railroad was built through the area, and was named for Dr. George L. Miller, a prominent Omaha physician and newspaperman who helped bring railroad development to the region. The village was formally incorporated in 1890.

Miller sits along Nebraska Highway 40 in northern Buffalo County. Kearney, the county seat, lies to the south.
