About Sartoria
Sartoria is a ghost town in Sartoria Township on the South Loup River, about 6½ miles west of Pleasanton.
History
John Swenson, who homesteaded here in 1874, coined the name, wanting one that was pleasant to say and hard to mispronounce. The post office ran from 1886 to 1924 (one list gives 1880 as the opening year).
