About Cadams
Cadams is an unincorporated community in southern Nuckolls County, about 6 miles north-northeast of Superior and 4½ miles south-southwest of Nora, in Nora precinct.
History
Residents wanted to name the town for C. Adams, a Superior banker, but the Post Office Department ran the two words together as Cadams. Accounts of its start differ: one says it was platted in 1890, and Fitzpatrick's 1925 Nebraska Place-Names says the Pioneer Town-Site Company platted it in 1901. The post office ran from the 1890s to about 1940, and the population peaked at 101 in 1930.
