Boys Town Nebraska

Boys Town is a village in Douglas County, Nebraska, established on December 12, 1917, as the headquarters of Father Flanagan's Boys' Home, founded by Father Edward J. Flanagan to care for and educate at-risk youth. The village grew up around this charitable mission and today functions as both an incorporated municipality and the organizational home of Boys Town, one of the country's best-known youth care organizations. Its historic campus is a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the village contains Boys Town's middle, high, and day schools, youth homes, a church, the Hall of History museum, a post office, a fire station, and a visitor center. Functioning as an enclave and suburb of Omaha, Boys Town covers just under one square mile. With a 2020 population of 410 and a 2024 estimate of 649, the village continues to grow alongside its namesake institution's ongoing work.
