Greenwood, Nebraska
Greenwood is a village in Cass County, Nebraska, with a population of 595 at the 2020 census (up from 568 in 2010). It was founded around 1869 with the arrival of the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad and is named for pioneer settler Silas Greenwood.
History
Greenwood grew as a small rail-served farming community in northern Cass County in the late 19th century. (Note: an unrelated site called "Greenwood Stage Station" in western Nebraska’s Morrill County shares a similar name but has no connection to this Greenwood.)
