Crowell, Nebraska

Crowell is an unincorporated community in Dodge County laid out in 1883. The origin of its name is disputed -- it may honor the proprietor of a local grain elevator, or Prince S. Crowell, a railroad official. A smaller settlement called Oak Springs existed nearby to the southwest before Crowell's development, documented on maps as early as 1876.
