Brandon is a historic unincorporated community in Perkins County, with a post office established in 1890 and existing, along with the county's other towns, by that same year according to the county's 1988 centennial history. Its exact name origin is genuinely uncertain — Wikipedia notes it may honor either a railroad official or a place in Ohio. One of the few well-documented ties between Brandon and the rest of the county is a one-room schoolhouse, originally located west of Brandon, that was later relocated to the Perkins County Museum in Grant, where it remains part of the museum's collection today.

Brandon, a historic unincorporated Perkins County community dating to at least 1890, is tied to the county museum's relocated one-room schoolhouse.
