Former village, now part of Bellevue · Sarpy County · post office 1891–1908
About Avery
Avery was a small railroad-era village and post office, now inside Bellevue. Avery Road and Avery Elementary School, 2107 Avery Rd., which stands on the old site, keep the name.
History
Avery had a post office from 1891 to 1908, followed by the Avery rural station. The origin of the name and the railroad it served were not found. Bellevue has since grown around the site; the Avery Tavern, run by VFW Post 10727, took its name from the area.
