History
Berks was a station on the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad west of Lincoln, where the stations were named in alphabetical order: Berks, Crete, Dorchester, Exeter, Fairmont, Grafton. The name may honor an early settler or Berks County, Pennsylvania. Its post office, counted as a Lancaster County office, closed in 1912.
