About Nim City
Nim City is an unincorporated community in southwestern Richardson County, about 6 miles south-southwest of Dawson and 3 miles north of the Kansas line. Only a few homes remain.
History
Betsey U. Nims platted the town in 1903, expecting a railroad that was never built; Fitzpatrick lists it as Nims and others as Nims City. At its height in 1906–08 it had a general store, a hotel of about ten rooms, a livery stable, a blacksmith shop, a church, a barber shop and a large public hall, along with many homes. The Schmid Farmstead, on the National Register, is about 1.3 miles away.
