Redington Nebraska

Redington's post office was established in 1886, making it one of the older-founded places in Morrill County, predating the 1899-1900 wave of railroad towns that produced Bridgeport, Angora, and Northport. It was named for Henry V. Redington, an early pioneer settler.

Redington is an unincorporated community, effectively a ghost town today, with no population figure specific to the settlement itself. Its post office, the settlement's main marker of activity, closed in 1962 after 76 years of operation. Redington precinct remains an active Morrill County civil subdivision, and rural addresses in the area now use Bridgeport's ZIP code, 69336.
