Northport Nebraska

NORTHPORT WEATHER

Northport Area Cameras

Northport takes its name from its position on the north bank of the North Platte River, and was connected to a Chicago, Burlington & Quincy branch line running from Alliance around 1900. A post office operated at Northport from 1910 to 1975, the clearest evidence of a real, sustained settlement.

Northport is an unincorporated community with no population figures tracked by the Census and no ZIP code of its own. Its post office, the settlement's main marker of activity, closed in 1975, and the site has had no further tracked economic activity since. It is a genuine historic hamlet rather than a currently active town.
