About Jacinto
Jacinto is a former Union Pacific station in eastern Kimball County, on US 30 about 4 miles east of Dix and 5 miles west of Potter, near the Cheyenne County line.
History
Jacinto is the Spanish word for "hyacinth." The station had railroad service but no post office in the 1895 atlas, and it appears on the 1912 county map; the 1921 county history spells it "Lacinto." The Geological Survey still lists it as a place on the railroad; no town remains.
