This History Nebraska marker stands on NE 14 about 9 miles north of Nelson, near the Little Blue River. It tells how, beginning August 7, 1864, Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors attacked stage stations and ranches along about 400 miles of the trail from Julesburg to the Big Sandy, stopping travel for two months; about 100 people were killed, most of them along the upper Little Blue, including seven members of the Eubank family at the Narrows near Oak.
