This History Nebraska marker is on South Post Street just south of US 20 in Hay Springs, by the entrance to Sunset RV Park. It tells of the Spotted Tail Agency, built in 1874 on Beaver Creek, and Camp Sheridan beside it. Crazy Horse surrendered there in September 1877; he was killed at Camp Robinson, and his parents brought his body back to Camp Sheridan. The Brulés were moved to present South Dakota in October 1877, and the camp was abandoned on May 1, 1881. The site itself, about 12 miles north-northwest, is on private land.
