History
The 1890 Nebraska State Gazetteer lists Garman as a post office with a population of 20, about 10 miles from Sidney, its nearest railroad point. E. P. It appears among the county's historical post offices, and like many inland offices of the homestead years it closed after rural mail delivery reached the tableland.
