Parks is a tiny unincorporated community in Dundy County, about 12 miles west of Benkelman. First settled around 1880-81 under the name "Ives," the community adopted the name Parks in 1904, honoring Frank Parks, a railroad surveyor who worked the westward-building line through the area. With a population of just 12 as of the 2020 Census, Parks is the smallest of Dundy County's town pages. It sits near Rock Creek Lake State Recreation Area, one of the county's few present-day visitor attractions, where anglers can fish for yellow perch, channel catfish, and largemouth bass. The adjoining Rock Creek State Fish Hatchery raises hybrid tiger trout.
Though barely populated today, Parks endures as a rural crossroads community near one of southwestern Nebraska's better recreational fishing spots. Its own commercial activity is minimal, but its proximity to Rock Creek Lake gives it a modest role as a gateway to outdoor recreation in Dundy County.
