About Hoag
Hoag was a railroad hamlet in Gage County, about 6 miles northwest of Beatrice. Nothing of the town is known to remain; the map point is approximate.
History
Hoag grew up as the first station out of Beatrice on the Burlington line toward Lincoln. It was named for a Mr. Hoagland, the first owner of the town site, and its post office opened in 1885.
In 1918 it was described as a hamlet of no more than 25 people, with a post office, a general store and two grain elevators. The post office closed in 1934.
