Wayne City Hall

Wayne City Hall is the municipal office for Wayne, Nebraska, at 513 Main Street. Wayne is the county seat of Wayne County, population 5,973. Founded 1881 when the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Railway was extended to the site. Home of Wayne State College. Wayne's downtown commercial district is on the National Register. The city operates its own utilities with an online municipal payments portal and runs a police department that also houses 9-1-1 communications. Departments and facilities include public safety, public works, economic development and the Wayne Municipal Auditorium.
