Universal Pure – Lincoln

Universal Pure runs a high pressure processing plant at 1601 Pioneers Boulevard in Lincoln, in Lancaster County. High pressure processing uses cold water at up to 87,000 pounds per square inch to pasteurize ready-to-eat foods without heat, which keeps flavor and texture that cooking would change. The site also does cold storage, beverage co-packing, tray kitting and tempering. Lincoln was the company's first plant, opened in 2001; it traded as Universal Pasteurization and Universal Cold Storage until 2017 and now has eight plants across the country.
