St. Paul's Methodist Protestant Church, known as the Stone Church, stands on NE 17 about 8 miles south of Culbertson. The congregation began in a sod church in 1892; stonemason J. L. Hoyt finished this church in 1900 of limestone hauled about five miles by wagon, on land given by Rebecca Hart. Regular services ended in 1951. It has no plumbing or electricity. The church was listed on the National Register in 1979 and is kept by the Stone Church Community Association, which holds gatherings there.
