Standing Bear Lake, 6404 N. 132nd St., Omaha (main entrance on Fort St. at 138th St.), is a 135-acre flood-control lake in a park of about 400 acres. It opened in 1977 and is named for Ponca Chief Standing Bear. It has a lake trail with a floating boardwalk, boating, trout fishing, a radio-controlled airplane field and Douglas Hollis's wind organ sculpture. Free.
