Speed's Apple Market is the supermarket at Ord, the seat of Valley County, in the North Loup valley of central Nebraska. It is the full-line grocery for a wide farming area, with produce, a meat counter, bakery, dairy, frozen and dry goods. The Apple Market name is one of the store banners licensed by Associated Wholesale Grocers, the retailer-owned cooperative that supplies independent grocers - so the shop is locally owned and run, with a national co-operative's buying power behind the shelf prices. Telephone 308-728-3555.
