Sioux County is one of Nebraska’s smallest by population, and it has run its own fair for over 125 years. The Sioux County Fair and Rodeo is held at the Sioux County Fairground, 325 Main Street in Harrison, from late July into the first days of August, with the rodeo at the end of the run. The program mixes things few other county fairs carry together: hog wrestling, a 5K race and an art show alongside the rodeo and demolition derby, plus 4-H exhibits and livestock shows, a free barbecue and pancake feed and a pie and ice cream social.
