Siena Francis House, at 17th and Nicholas Streets north of downtown Omaha, is Nebraska's largest homeless shelter. It was founded in 1975 by the Rev. Jack McCaslin, who used his life insurance to buy a house, and marked its 50th year in 2025. It shelters up to 460 people and serves about 3,150 people a year with low-barrier emergency shelter, the Miracles addiction recovery program, medical respite and supportive housing, including tiny homes and an apartment complex.
