Royal Bar & Grill

A bar and grill on Highway 20 at Royal, and a genuinely useful stop: Royal is the village at the gate of Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park, where a volcanic ash fall preserved a whole waterhole of rhinoceroses, horses and camels in place, still lying where they died. It is one of the most remarkable sites in North America and there is very little else at Royal, which makes this the room where visitors and locals both end up.
