The Richardson County Free Fair and Fall Festival is different from almost every other fair in Nebraska on three counts. It is free to get in. It runs in mid-September rather than the June to August county fair season. And it holds a parade every single day at 11 in the morning rather than one parade for the week. It is held at the Humboldt Fair Grounds at 103 4th Street in Humboldt, with the carnival setting up around the town square. Stage entertainment runs at 2 and at 8, and the week takes in livestock, photography, culinary, textile, craft and flower exhibits, a queen coronation, tractor pulls and an antique tractor show.
