The Red Willow County Fair is held at the fairgrounds at 1400 West 5th in McCook in late July, with the fair board office in the Community Building at 1412 West 5th Street. The week carries concerts, derbies and rodeo events, 4-H competition, open class exhibition and vendor space. The grounds also house Kiplinger Arena, which is run and rented separately, so the site works as a year-round events venue rather than a fairground that wakes up for one week.
