Pioneers Park is a City of Lincoln park at 3201 South Coddington Avenue, open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. At Harris Circle by the east entrance stands Buffalo, a life-size bronze bison by French sculptor Georges Gardet that is about 5.5 feet tall at the shoulder, 9 feet long and 3,000 pounds.
John F. Harris and Gertrude Upham Harris gave the statue to the city, and it was dedicated on May 17, 1930. It is part of Lincoln's public art collection. The park is also home to the Pioneers Park Nature Center and an easy 3-mile trail loop.
