The Phelps County Fair is held at 1308 Second Avenue in Holdrege in late July, and admission is free. The Phelps County Agricultural Society has hosted it since 1932. Livestock competition, a demolition derby, carnival activities and food booths make up the week. The fairgrounds are a genuinely year-round venue rather than a site that opens for one week a year, hosting weddings, community and educational events and baseball nearly every weekend of the year.
