One Horse Saloon

A genuine old saloon in Nickerson, north of Fremont — pressed tin ceiling, swinging doors at the entrance and a beer garden out back. The kitchen is deliberately limited: tacos on Thursday nights and chislic, the cubed fried meat that came down from the Dakotas, rather than a full daily menu. People drive out from Fremont for the room as much as the drinks, and it is a regular stop for motorcycle groups working the Dodge County back roads in summer.
