Offutt Air Force Base Emergency Management

Emergency management for Offutt Air Force Base at Bellevue in Sarpy County, home of the 55th Wing and United States Strategic Command. The base office coordinates with Sarpy County emergency management on incidents that reach beyond the fence line, as the 2019 Missouri River flooding did. Emergency management plans for and coordinates the response to floods, tornadoes, blizzards, hazardous material spills and other emergencies, works with fire, law enforcement and rescue services, issues warnings, and handles damage assessment and recovery afterwards. It works alongside the county emergency management office rather than replacing it.
