Linoma Lighthouse RV Park & Campground is a private, members-only lakeside camping community built around the historic Linoma Beach resort site on the Platte River near Ashland, Nebraska. The spring-fed lake and grounds offer river and lakeside camping lots, a swimming beach, fishing, water activities, and a pavilion, with the 1939 Linoma Lighthouse -- listed on the National Register of Historic Places -- as the property's centerpiece landmark.
The resort traces back to 1924, when Linoma Beach opened as a swimming and dance destination roughly halfway between Omaha and Lincoln. After decades of decline following World War II, the property was purchased out of foreclosure by local investors in 2010 and restored, reopening as a members' campground in 2011. Camping lots are available through an annual membership lot auction, typically held each January; proceeds help fund ongoing restoration of the historic lighthouse.
Location: On the Platte River about 4 miles northeast of Ashland, Nebraska, in Sarpy County. Office/mailing address: 1442 Silver Street, Ashland, NE 68003.
Access: Membership-based; the campground is not open to the general public without a membership or lot.
