The Lied Platte River Bridge is a 1,714-foot former Rock Island Railroad trestle over the Platte River about a mile east of South Bend. The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District opened it as a trail bridge in 2002. It links Cass County with the MoPac Trail at Springfield in Sarpy County; parking is off NE 66 on the south side and off NE 31 on the north. The bridge was closed for repairs after the March 2019 flood, so check with the NRD before you go.
