A bar in a red brick building on Main Street in Thedford, the Thomas County seat and one of the few towns on the Highway 2 run across the Sandhills. That road is the Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway, and Thedford sits roughly at its middle — the Nebraska National Forest at Halsey, the largest hand-planted forest in the United States, is twenty minutes east. For anyone driving the byway this is one of very few places to stop.
