John C. Fremont Days is held across Fremont on the second full weekend of July, Thursday evening through Sunday, and reached its 38th annual edition in 2026. It began in 1987 as a family-oriented citywide festival honouring the explorer John C. Fremont. The weekend carries Kennedy’s Cruisers on Main car show, a rodeo, a balloon glow, a historical parade, sporting events, children’s activities, and Chautauqua tent programming alongside music, food and crafts. A downtown car show, a balloon glow and a rodeo in the same weekend is an unusual combination. The festival office is at the Fremont City Auditorium, 925 North Broad Street. Phone 402-727-9428.
