Jefferson County Driver License Office

The Jefferson County Driver License Office is run by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles at Courthouse, 411 4th St ​, Fairbury. It is open every Wednesday, 9:15 - 12:00, 1:00 - 4:30. Drive tests are not given between 11:40 AM and 1:00 PM, or after 4:00 PM. CDL skills tests are not given here. Business handled here includes new, renewal and replacement driver's licenses, state ID cards, learner's permits, school and farm permits, and written knowledge and drive tests. Vehicle titles and registration are a separate matter, handled by the Jefferson County Treasurer at 411 Fourth Street, telephone 402-729-6827 - not at this office.
