Description

Lincoln's Historic Haymarket began in 1874 as Haymarket Square and grew between 1880 and 1920 as the city's warehouse, wholesale and manufacturing district. Roughly bounded by 7th to 9th and N to R Streets, it was designated a city landmark district in 1982 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. Notable buildings include the 1884 Veith Building and the 1925 J.C. Ridnour Building. Today it is Lincoln's busiest dining and entertainment district, next to Pinnacle Bank Arena, which opened in 2013.
