The Frontier County Courthouse, 1 Wellington St. in Stockville, is a two-story frame building of 1888–89, built by Sebastian Binger for $3,400 after an earlier courthouse burned. Stockville has been the county seat since 1872 and kept it through bids by Curtis in 1920, 1930 and around 1950. Indoor restrooms were added in 1962, the year Stockville became the last county seat in America reached by a paved highway. Office hours are weekdays 8 to noon and 12:30 to 4.
