Description

Deadwood Draw, about 3 miles northwest of Sidney, was the staging area where freighters and stagecoaches gathered before setting out on the Sidney–Black Hills Trail to Deadwood during the gold rush of the late 1870s. Wagon ruts, a possible dugout and a small limestone quarry remain, and the site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
