Dakota County Rural Water

Dakota County Rural Water is a rural water district, run from Blair in Washington County. It supplies about 2,032 people through 674 service connections. Rural water districts do for water what the public power districts do for electricity: they pipe it to the farms, acreages and small settlements that sit outside any town’s own system. Nebraska has only about thirty of them, so in much of the state a rural household is still on a private well. Population and connection counts come from the federal drinking water system inventory.
