Covington Hobbitlike Cottage is a hobbit-themed vacation rental with a grass roof on a 5-acre property in South Sioux City, booked through Airbnb. The cottage took 14 months to build and opened in 2021 on the same property as the Kottage Knechtion Treehouse and The Koffie Knechtion coffee shop, run by Darwin and Maureen Knecht.
The cottage sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms with one double bed and one queen bed. It has a half bath, and guests use a seasonal outdoor shower in the greenhouse from about March through November. Listed amenities include wifi, free parking, a private patio, an electric fireplace, a record player, books and board games, a microwave, a mini fridge, a wood-burning grill, a fire pit and keypad self check-in. Pets are allowed. The street address is shared after booking.
