The Colfax County Fair is held at Leigh, a village of about 400 people, rather than at the county seat of Schuyler, Thursday through Sunday in mid to late July. Admission, parking, the grandstand shows and the tractor pulls are all free, and it carries a slogan it has kept for years: The Fair that Treats you Right, Always. The week takes in beef, swine, sheep, dairy, poultry and rabbit shows, a 4-H fashion revue, open horse arena riding, barrel racing, team roping, a tractor pull, pig wrestling, an escape room, a comedy ventriloquist and live bands.
