Clay County Driver License Office

The Clay County Driver License Office is run by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles at Courthouse, 111 W Fairfield, Clay Center. It is open on selected Tuesdays only, 8:15-12:00, 12:30-4:00 - the DMV publishes the dates for each year, so check the current list before setting out. Drive tests are not given between 11:40 AM and 12:30 PM, or after 3:30 PM. CDL skills tests are not given here. Business handled here includes new, renewal and replacement driver's licenses, state ID cards, learner's permits, school and farm permits, and written knowledge and drive tests. Vehicle titles and registration are a separate matter, handled by the Clay County Treasurer at 111 West Fairfield Street, PO Box 134, telephone 402-762-3505 - not at this office.
