O’Neill City Hall

O'Neill City Hall is the municipal office for O'Neill, Nebraska, at 401 East Fremont Street. O'Neill is the county seat of Holt County and carries the designation Irish Capital of Nebraska; a large shamrock is painted at the downtown crossing of US Highways 20 and 281. The city offices provide utilities, streets, fire and rescue and general municipal services, and house the mayor's office and the council chambers. The town was founded in 1874 by General John O'Neill, who brought Irish immigrant families to settle the area.
