Established in 1921, Chadron State Park is the oldest state park in Nebraska and the second-oldest west of the Mississippi River. Set in the rugged Pine Ridge of the Nebraska panhandle, the park features towering ponderosa pines, dramatic buttes, and hiking and horseback riding trails. Facilities include modern and rustic cabins, a swimming pool, picnic areas, and a full campground. The park is adjacent to the Nebraska National Forest and near Fort Robinson State Park. A Nebraska State Park Entry Permit is required.
