Bridgeport City Hall is the municipal office for Bridgeport, Nebraska, at 809 Main Street. Bridgeport is the county seat of Morrill County, population 1,454. The community formed in 1899 after the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad built through the area, and incorporated as a village in 1901. Named for a bridge over the North Platte River. Nebraska's lowest recorded temperature, 47 below zero, was set at Bridgeport on February 12 1899, later tied by Oshkosh in 1989.
