Timber Point, a Lower Platte South NRD area southeast of Brainard, has 160 acres around a 29-acre lake, with a no-wake boat ramp, fishing for bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish and tiger muskie (bass minimum 21 inches), hunting with state permits, three camping pads, fire rings and a vault toilet. Entry is free. From the south edge of Brainard go 1 mile east, 1 mile south and 1 mile east; entrances are on County Road V at State Spur 12B. Lower Platte South NRD, (402) 476-2729.
