Description

This marker stands where the Cowboy Trail crosses 190th Lane east of Gordon, at the Lone Willow on Antelope Creek, a landmark on the Gordon Trail. The Rev. John A. Scamahorn's colony from Indiana camped here in 1884, and the town moved about a mile west when the railroad came in 1885. A many-trunked willow still stands.
